Jack!

Baby Jack just had his first birthday 2 days ago. I'm reminded of the tough times I went through after giving birth to him. Just a wrinkle in my memory of his birth, nothing more, and feeling bad that he was alone that first night in the world. Would that explain how aloof and unattached he seemed in the first few months? I don't know. One thing for sure: he's not aloof anymore. He's smiling a lot more, laughing at the baby on Teletubbies, laughing when he plays with toys, running up to the tv to threaten us with turning it off, then running off laughing. Jack likes his burp cloth a lot; he sleeps with it. Ba Que even notices this. She must like him a lot to notice something like that and giving it to him every time he naps.

Jack has learned to compete with older sister Marin. He cries for attention whenever she is being held by me. He even hits her sometimes to get her off me. Jack is not obvious with his intentions, but he does pay attention to his surrounding, like snatching Marin's juice cup and running away, or making a bee line for the pantry, the fridge, the dishwasher every time he sees or hears them being opened.

He's so handsome. He looks like my brother, who is also very handsome. He's incredibly strong; he has a bit of a temper. I can't ask for a more perfect son, and of course, a more perfect daughter. We are so blessed with such a beautiful family. It's so perfect that I'm always afraid that something would happen, but never fear, Mama has incredible luck; I'm sure we're all riding on it :D
